March 20 marks the International Day of Happiness, which was proclaimed by the United Nations. By this date, she publishes a report that contains the happiest countries in the world. In 2023, Finland topped the ranking for the sixth time in a row. The rating is based on a survey of respondents from 130 countries who were asked to rate how satisfied they are with life on a 10-point scale. Then the authors of the report deduced the average values - the index of happiness. They also analyzed how health, income, and other indicators could affect the assessment of quality of life.
Israel has a good indicator, which has risen to fourth place from ninth. The top 10 also includes the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg and New Zealand.
Russia ranked 70th, up ten positions from last year. The United States is in 15th place, France is in 21st place, Great Britain is in 19th place, and Ukraine is in 92nd place.
The most unfortunate were Burkina Faso, Namibia, Ghana, Pakistan and Niger - one of the least developed countries in the world.
