The popularity of higher education in Thailand continues to grow. From 2009 to 2019, the number of foreign students at local universities increased by 2.5 times.
There are 155 accredited universities in Thailand, of which 10 are public and 72 are private.
Three universities from Thailand are included in the top 100 list of QS Asia University Rankings 2022:
- Chulalongkorn University (36th place),
- Mahidol University (43rd place),
- Chiang Mai University (88th place)
Language. The official language of instruction in the country is Thai, but there are more than 300 programs in universities that are taught in English.
Visa. You will need an ED student visa to study in Thailand. In order to apply for it, you must first confirm enrollment at the university for a full-time study program, as well as pay at least 50% of the total cost of the course. A student visa in Thailand is issued for a period of 90 days to 1 year. The cost of registration is 80 USD.
Price. The minimum cost of a bachelor's degree is 143 USD/year, and the maximum is 2,143 USD/year. A master's degree is on average more expensive - from 1,143 USD to 4,203 USD per year.

The most expensive and prestigious school in Phuket with the possibility of a full board. The curriculum is based on the national British system.

Kajonkiet International School

In public schools, teaching is conducted in Thai. Education in them is free only for children of whom at least one parent is a citizen of Thailand.
